Needle System : 15X1LR These needles also cross to these different needle systems : 15X2, HAX2, 15XLL, 15X1LR, HAX1LL, 130LR This is the leather point needle with a flat shank. It has all of the same features as 15X1 (HAX1) with the addition of a lens shaped point to cut through leather and other heavy materials. Caution must be used when changing to this needle. Extra space must be left between needle penetrations to avoid 'cutting out' the design. It is better to tie or seal thread ends rather than backstitching to secure. Sew accurately since removing stitches and restitching will leave hole markings. Synthetic leathers and suedes can and should be sewn with standard needles. These needles have a flat side ground on the needle shank to assure proper alignment with the point of the sewing hook. (Intended only for machines designed for Flat Shank needles).
